The Chinese aviation market simply defies forecasting. It is possible to extrapolate on the past decade's growth. That alone produces exceptional results. But there is potentially so much more to come, as China liberalises, as its airlines take up international flying. The combination of low fares and tens of millions of people concurrently reaching the necessary economic threshold suggests that even the more extreme forecasts could be underestimating the market's real potential.
